HEALING CUISINE

HEALING CUISINE

Inspired by the great compromise of offering HEALTH to all of you, and precious information about natural and magical healing remedies at home, I begin with this section which will bring you hope and alternatives to cure any condition. I say any condition and use the word magic, because everything in our lives has a magical remedy for healing every wrong doing or difficult situation that we live. For me, every disease has a remedy according to your attitude, responsibility, compromise and interest in healing yourself, above all.

I receive lots of e-mails from sick persons who ask for recipes and help for different conditions. Other have manifested about the wellness experienced in their health since they quit eating meat and started a vegetarian life with my recipes as guide. I can assure these experiences are true, and understanding there is too much valuable information, I will share with you all collected material for your knowledge. I will start telling you that all diseases or health conditions have a root or source and you don’t suffer them by chance. Good and bad people get sick, so do children, youngsters, adults and the elderly. You will be amazed to know that some diseases are genetically inherited, others have a spiritual cause and there are those you have caused to yourself although you may not remember why. But, its also good to know that you are able to cure yourself and it’s here where I am going to show you the first steps for an effective, natural, fast and harmonious healing process.

How to Heal Yourself: You will be the Best Doctor and your Diet…,

your Best Medicine.

• The Mind – Your MIND and a POSITIVE ATTITUDE are your best allies to cure yourself. Everything starts and ends in our mind. The mind can heal you, but can also sicken you. The most important step is to take control, be alert and nourish the mind with positive, creative and compassionate thoughts that can help your fellow men. A pure, relaxed, harmonious and controlled mind reflects a body alike. The mind, being energy in itself, never dies but transforms. The mind is so powerful, that some governments in the world have been experimenting with some subjects for years and even using the mind of selected people to spy on others. Yes, spying… Some persons with high perceptive capacities have been taken to secret places where some branches of government and the military work trying to discover secret plans and agendas from other countries or organizations. These persons decipher strategies and later prove their minds effectively grasped something that was hidden. This is clear evidence that the mind, as a generator of thoughts is also a receptor, which shows we are all in some way, connected to the earth and the universe. There are no limits for the mind. Then…why not use it in favor of our health?  Simple, it’s time to use creative visualization in our Mind. Never declare that you will die from either one or other disease, or that you have a feeling that you will have a stroke because these affirmations are recorded by the unconscious as willingness. Change those affirmations for: “I feel happy, healthy and I’m going to enjoy a long and prosperous life in health, for the benefit of mankind”.

• Visualization – I’m a faithful practitioner of this marvelous technique. If a thought or desire to do something manifests in your conscious mind, this method will give results according to the sequence and intensity in which is projected. It consists of using your own imagination to create what we wish for in life, that being either spiritual or material.  If we can visualize ourselves enjoying an excellent health, abundance and happiness, we will obtain these in our present and future lives. Creative visualization is a subjective reality that we may have not experienced before, but we must rehearse it as real using all of our senses. The practice must be as real as touching, feeling, smelling and seeing what we desire until you achieve to create it as a vivid experience. We can apply this technique while meditating and we start by:

1) Searching for a calm and peaceful place (either at home or in nature). 2) Sit down comfortably placing your legs in the lotus position (if possible) and your back straight in a comfortable but firm position. Play some soft, melodic and inspirational music. 3) Begin to take control of your breathing, inhaling and exhaling deeply and slowly. 4) Establish your main objective or motivation, if it is for health reasons, financial, spiritual, cleansing, forgiveness, distance healing or other kind of help. 5) Look for that deep relaxation point where you will give form to that which you desire. 6) Imagine that place, action, person(s), object, environment and surroundings, temperature, smells and colors atmosphere around the place, and most importantly seeing and touching it. Understanding that you are the one that creates, be faithful, consistent and patient and don’t limit yourself. If you do it right, your works will manifest. Please, don’t contaminate this technique with vain petitions or exclusively monetary ones. It’s good enough to visualize yourself happy and surrounded with basic supplies, in order for the universe to conspire in your favor and please you. Remember: that which life permits to manifest for you will also depend on karmic conditions. This is meant for you to understand that there are spiritual reasons that can not be altered due to causes previously created in past lives.  The good news is, if you decide to work TODAY and accumulate good deeds in favor of humanity’s next generations, you will create excellent conditions to counteract those negative factors and diminish their effects. Relaxing techniques are most effective in healing fear, insecurity, low esteem, psychological complexes and then be able to visualize your goals and achievements more clearly. During all my life, when meditating, my custom has always been to plan my next day and then afterwards create beautiful worlds with good, healthy and happy people, all with the power of creative visualization. Is like having a daily agenda, but with your creative mind. Remember…We are what we think. Finally, our mind makes us rich or poor, happy or unfortunate. I am talking by experience, for you all have seen the effect of creating this blog, where thousands of visitors are benefited through information and creative recipes.

• Affirmations and Decrees – go hand in hand with thought. Affirmations are a principle to which we give validity and truth, without any doubt. You carefully select and determine what affirmation, decree or command you want to give to your mind in order to introduce it inside your conscience. There are decrees and affirmations for health, abundance, high esteem, power and other. They work based on changes in attitude and behavior learned by repetition in order for our conscious mind to replace old programming stuck in the subconscious for a new one. We need lots of energy, faith and consistency for what we decree. A very practical and effective decree that I once learned, comes to my mind: “I am receiving”; “I am receiving now”; I am now receiving all physical, mental and spiritual riches that the Universe has for me, today and now”. You can write in a piece of paper and memorize it.

• Perception – We all perceive. We are all receptors of vibratory waves; we all have intuition and receive messages from within. But, what is the difference between the gifts of a clairvoyant, a psychic, an astrologer or tarot reader and those attributes we all have?  Everything relies on them believing in their gifts and convincing you about your weaknesses in this field. I have personally studied the subject of perception, reading books and practicing basic exercises of mind reading. Results were excellent. You can open your channels of perception and everything becomes more significant. Only observe and you will discover that every person always manifests outwardly what is inside him. Hear his heart and mind and be in mental alertness. I recommend you to visit your favorite book store and look for books that show you the necessary steps to develop this wonderful but necessary gift we all have. A basic book that I can recommend to you is Belleruth Naparstek’s “Your Sixth Sense” which explains this subject very well and on a step by step basis.

• Change of habits – Start by changing that routine that sickened you. You were doing something wrong with your life that sickened you. It’s clearly enough that you will not heal if you keep doing or eating the same. Definitively, the life you are living is making you ill and there is a need to change routines and habits if you want to be cured. I know about persons that moved to houses near nature, mountains or the sea shore to save their health. Nature by itself is a fountain of natural health and a battery of life.

• Nutrition – Natural and healing nutrition – this blog gives you many alternatives. Remember, my blog is most useful for preventive medicine. If you are suffering from diseases like cancer, diabetes, tumors, high cholesterol, hypertension, heart problems or other serious conditions that may need surgery, therapy or the constant intake of prescription medicine, then a drastic change in our diet and a stricter regime is a must.  We here integrate medicinal plants, tea, magic brews, healing mushrooms, fruit and plant infusions, therapies, massage, Reiki, shamanic and Ayurvedic medicine. You can read it in any language you like or search your preferred herbalist culture; you know its time to move quickly. You can’t just stay still and leave yourself to die. There are very interesting new studies about the reasons and causes for each health conditions. As I told you before: everything starts in the mind and ends in the mind. Don’t’ take as an excuse the example of a baby that comes to life without deciding anything, because there is always a genetic and spiritual explanation for such, worth studying.

• Body Energy – energy moves our bodies and the whole world. Everything is energy. Energy is liberated from the 7 chakras, which move like vortexes in our body. When these chakras are blocked our system doesn’t work well. We are spiritual beings who at the time of incarnation in a material body, we keep vibrating in other levels. Studies have revealed that before diseases reach our physical body, they are first manifested in the energetic aura which surrounds our body. A clairvoyant person knowledgeable about healing techniques can see the disease before it attacks the body and can help the patient to cure himself before it invades the body. Cancer can be detected when it manifests in the aura with a particular color and you can heal from it before it becomes a tumor. Seems incredible, but it’s true. The disease’s cycle originates in the mind, it moves from there to the energetic aura and finally to the body. Again, that’s why we are what we think. It’s interesting to bring out that every 7 years our body regenerates completely from the inside out, which indicates that a new pancreas, new liver, new ova, new heart and new brains are created. It’s that simple.

• Thought – The relationship between complexities like cancer and its association with a guilty consciousness or guilt feeling about some situation, diabetes with unhappiness or the link of arthritis with resentments, is something to have a deep reflection about. Our body as same as our mind, stores many thoughts, events, hates and resentments. A few years ago, I was invited to Brazil by my great friend Dr. Lair Ribeiro who has written more than 25 books on self development and runs a workshop seminar twice a year in that Country called SINTONIA (Tuning). These seminars are aimed towards recovering your body’s harmony. There, I learned many techniques including a way to make daily contact with our body’s most important energy points in order to activate the chakras and vital Qi-gong energies (pats on your forehead, neck, chin, knees and arms). Also, walking barefoot over a straight line arrangement of small stones helps to activate your vital energy centers through the nerve terminals found in your feet. These are a series of exercises that are frequently confused with martial arts or Tai-chi, but they are not the same. I recommend you to visit Dr. Ribeiro’s web page and look for information on his SINTONIA workshops which are quite a life’s experience for healing and strengthening your spirit. Although he is Brazilian, he speaks English very well (graduated as a Doctor in Cardiology from Harvard University) and his workshop seminars have also been given in the U.S., Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Venezuela and other Countries.

I also can recommend Harold Moscovitz’ webpage: http://www.desarrolloluzdorada.com/MOSKOVITZ/harold.html http://www.desarrolloluzdorada.com/MOSKOVITZ/television1a_2.html http://www.desarrolloluzdorada.com/testimonios/testimonios.htmlhttp://www.recetasdemadelen.com/wp-admin/page.php?action=edit&post=3768&message=1

He is a psychologist who has been studying the body’s energy and healing methods for many years. I invite you to visit his page because we need to give recognition to this man for his studies and discoveries.

The Gerson therapy is a powerful natural treatment that strengthens the immunological system for curing cancer, arthritis, coronary diseases, allergies and many other degenerative illnesses. One aspect that makes a difference from other treatments is its integrative and exclusive nature. Thirteen glasses of fresh juice, fruits and organic green vegetables are consumed daily, which provide abundant nutrients, enzymes and minerals. Afterwards, these substances diminish those sick body tissues, while enemas help eliminate a life’s accumulation of toxins stored inside the liver.

• Routines – Exercise, sun bathing, walking, swimming in beaches or lakes, getting soaked in the rain and enjoying nature. This can seem normal things to you, but they are more important than what you think. Visit friends and family, and laugh a lot!!!

• Nature – Being in contact with nature, to touch and embrace the trees, smell the flowers, step on the grass barefooted, watch a sunrise, enjoy the melodic sounds of birds chirping, the sound of flowing waters or a spring, the sound of the wind and the color of flowers. Learn to appreciate life in small insects like ants, bees, worms and begin watching them with respect.

• Meditation – one of the most important. Meditation, which I practice every day, is the most important physical and spiritual instrument to keep balance between body and mind. This is the food that gives us energy to adjust our mind, organize our thoughts and take us to experience a higher level of consciousness. Through meditation we can heal the mind, calm our thoughts, cure depressions, anxieties, cure our body’s physical illnesses, balance our aura, do distance healing for friends and relatives, help all beings we like, even those we don’t know personally and the whole humanity. Meditation gives us a discipline that we always should practice. Meditation should be constant and become a routine like the food we consume, and mostly if the person is ill. Precisely, the person might be ill because she doesn’t know about meditation as a source for curing all maladies.

• Education – As soon as we contract some illness or condition, we must look for information about it. Know how this illness behaves in our bodies, what causes it, how does it feed or what makes it advance inside our body. The more you know, the more you place yourself ahead of the condition. Look up information about the human systems and the affected organ(s) in the internet. Read about its function and the kind of food and medicinal plants used in its cure. Healing visualization is more effective if you know by heart where to focus in your body, how to do it and the frequency to be practiced. Don’t leave everything to your physician. He will surely help find alternatives for you, but it’s a job for both.

• The Physician – When I mention the physician, I’m not referring to the certified physician only.  There are many doctors in natural, ayurvedic and shamanic medicine. All of them are guided to the same purpose, to help the patient to heal. Some choose the methods of modern medicine, and others choose ancient or natural medicine. Besides paying a visit to your certified physician, you can either visit a naturopath, iris specialist, Chinese or Hindu doctor, acupuncturist, chiropractor or a renowned herb master. Always with a positive attitude and you’ll see that there are lots of alternatives to heal your condition. I feel respect for all of them and trust that each one has an important piece of our puzzle. Always ask about your risks and to tell you the truth. Once you know the pros and cons, you must align yourself with the cure. Nowadays, doctors, answers and testimonies on same health conditions are but a click away in the internet.

• Control – Once you are certain about the nature of your health condition, take control of your emotions and immediately pronounce: NO MATTER WHAT I HAVE, I WILL BE HEALED. Remember, the word creates and with this affirmation your healing begins.

• Water – This is the most important fuel for the body, contained in 2 atoms of hydrogen plus 1 of oxygen (H2O). Water comprises 71% of the Earth’s surface. It’s responsible for supplying the vital source of energy that make our bodies work. Water is an excellent conduit and based on this principle, we can program it to work for our body. The Japanese master Masaru Emoto, has made experiments all around the world about the effect that thoughts, words and music have over water molecules. His studies are based on the forms that frozen water molecules acquire when exposed to different forms or vibrations. One of Emoto’s experiments consists of attaching words, drawings or playing music to different glass pitches with water, freezes them, and then afterwards examines the traces and forms that ice crystals created in those jars.

He also collects water from different places of the world to compare their forms. He believes that water programming is very important. Our bodies are a 60% to 70% water composition and if we program health codes in our body’s water, imagine what benefits we can achieve. I offer my experience with water and this practice which has been wonderful. Take a pitch full of water and attach a phrase you like with an adhesive tape. If you are ill, program the sign on your water pitch by writing these examples: 1) “This water that enters my body will go directly to where that (illness name) is and will heal it forever”.  2) “This water will go directly to my pancreas, will cure my diabetes and create new regenerated cells”. 3) “This water will clean my cholesterol; it will detach it from my arteries, heart and veins”. 4) “This water will block that tumor and will disintegrate it until it disappears forever”. The idea is to always label the water that you will drink. Place your hands on the pitch, close your eyes and send out a thought that impregnates all this water energy in order to magnetize it and make it work for you. Also you can place commands of happiness, peace and harmony. It works wonderfully and watching the results is more fascinating. You must create a discipline out of this, and an absolute faith that while you are drinking this water, your illness is healing. Believe and you will heal. This effect is similar to a blank computer CD or DVD, in which we record the information we like. The only difference is, the water already inside our bodies has a defective programming that must be erased and reprogrammed. This is how it works; when we program it for our benefit, water goes inside our body and decodes those messages of illness, bad luck, hate, remorse and unhappiness. Here I include some videos from Mr. Emoto, who deserves all my respects and admiration for his studies full of superior logic and for his will to help others.

The Wonders of LEMON

Lemons are originally from Asia and the most curative of all citrus, with the highest concentration of vitamin C. Fasting on lemon water for one day is highly recommended to clean and protect your system from any bacteria or disease. Lemon juice should be taken at least 3 times a week with hardly any sugar or honey.

The Wonders of GARLIC

Garlic is the most curative of vegetables and the preferred one as a culinary spice. Is originally from Central Asia and its medicinal power has been recognized around the world. Garlic has been used to fight thrombosis, brain embolism, vascular diseases, diminishes bad cholesterol, LDL. As a natural antiseptic and antibiotic, reinforces the body’s immunological system.  It eliminates parasites inside the body in a very effective way, eliminates uric acid and protects against calcification of the arteries, helps in avoiding hypertension and poor blood circulation. It’s also a natural diuretic and expectorant. Garlic is recommended as a sedative for the nervous system due to its phosphorus and sulfur content. Garlic is more effective when eaten raw, for it looses its healing properties when cooked. Serves as a skin disinfectant in cases of insect bytes, cuts or skin eruptions and is the heart’s best ally for its blood purification and strengthening properties. Garlic stimulates the functions of the brain, heart and sexual glands because is a natural aphrodisiac. In ancient times, garlic use was believed to keep demons and bad spirits away. It also helps with any inflammation, rheumatism and gallbladder calculus. The frequent ingestion of garlic expands blood vessels and improves blood circulation which avoids the risks of high pressure. Ii is recommended to consume it raw, chopped, or mashed, with water or bread, on a daily basis. You can also find garlic in pills which is another alternative to consume it.

The One that Makes Us Cry – THE ONION

Onions are bulbs that grow in the ground. Originally from Central Asia, onions are found in different types, sizes and colors like yellow, purple and white. They have been widely used as seasoning in Mediterranean cuisine and now in the International cuisine. It is frequently prescribed as a natural antibiotic. Contains minerals, vitamins A, B1, E and C, calcium, iodine, potassium, zinc, copper, phosphorus and folic acid. It has diuretic properties, helps in the regulation of digestion, respiratory problems, atherosclerosis, rheumatism, cholesterol and hypertension, constipation, stimulates the appetite, anti-thrombotic (fights blood clots and low circulation), it’s a great disinfectant and if eaten raw, helps in fighting infectious diseases. When used for the skin, it acts against insect bytes, warts, skin stains, and dandruff or hair loss if rubbed against your scalp. It is recommended for persons with diabetes for its glucose-quinine content (vegetable insulin) which purifies the blood and regulates sugar levels. It combats bacteria and fungus. Works against osteoporosis for it stimulates the development of bone tissue. If you wish to obtain more healing benefits from onions, don’t cook them because health properties will be lost. A trick you can use to eat onions in their raw form in salads is to leave them aging in vinegar, lemon or wine to reduce their acid content. Properties are similar to those in garlic.

• The Miraculous – GOAT MILK

Goat milk – Evidence exists of its use and consumption since times before Christ, by different civilizations, including the Egyptians. Part of goat’s milk benefits are that is more digestible that cow’s milk due to its intestinal enzymes. Protein in this milk is similar to our body’s protein composition and features. Fatty acids contained in this milk eliminate cholesterol deposits in our system. Is hypoallergenic for it helps fighting respiratory conditions like asthma, skin eruptions, poor digestion, stomachache, and stomach ulcers. It contains pure vitamin A when taken in direct doses, and not through thyroid glands. It is excellent for infants, who need this vitamin without the need to process it, due to their vague gland. Levels of vitamins B6, B2 and B12 are perfect in goat’s milk which is very similar to breast milk, rich in protein, calcium, fat (reduced levels), iron, vitamins C and D. It’s very well balanced in levels of essential amino acids and fatty acids. Goat’s milk is consumed nowadays by 3% of the Western population and consumption in the East equals that from cow products like pure milk, powder milk, cheese and soap for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry. I have insisted in the benefits of this milk from personal experience with my children and even with my pets. When my children got sick (rarely) their diet was based in goat’s milk for a fast recovery from any condition. Even diapper rash was cured with powder goat milk. I recognize that not everybody likes its taste, but goat cheese is very good. Try it with coffee and use it even to make yogurt. Use my yogurt recipe and combine portions ½ cow milk and 1/2 goat milk. You will have a spectacular and nutritive yogurt. I use goat’s milk and cheese on a weekly basis Delicious!!!

Note: I have a cat with feline leukemia. The veterinarian had him hospitalized for two weeks. After doing everything possible to keep him alive, the veterinarian asked my permission to put the cat to “sleep” because his condition was severe. Never! I told him, and took my cat home. I started giving my cat an intensive dose of affection and a daily dose of goat milk. Today, he walks proudly around my neighborhood using his 7th and last life. I still keep him drinking goat milk 3 times a week along with his dry meals. GOAT MILK is a miracle.

• The Enigmatic, Magic and Healing – Mushroom

There are multiple varieties of mushrooms. Mushrooms live mostly as tree parasites, in wooden logs, in grass and other humid places. Mycology is the branch of science and botany in charge of studying mushrooms. Mushrooms have been classified inside the plant kingdom and reproduce themselves through spores. There are mushrooms with nutritional value, ornamental, poisonous and toxic. Inside the gourmet cuisine, they occupy a very important position in the confection of a wide number of meals, salads and soups. Mushrooms are highly medicinal and are used to fight anemia and cholesterol, they control blood sugar, stimulate brain functions, absolutely no fat, rich in protein, fiber, calcium, iron, minerals, phosphorus and vitamins B1, B2 and B3. They are natural antioxidants that help us maintain our youth and also with cardiovascular and hypertension problems. The type of mushroom I mostly cook with is for its delicious and particular flavor is called Shitake. Shitake’s properties are used against cancer; alleviate chemotherapy symptoms, excellent antibacterial, besides strengthening the immunological system. Shitake mushrooms are found in dehydrated form in the oriental markets. You only need to place them in warm water to recover their original spongy texture, smell and taste. Shitake mushrooms won’t make you fat. We can consume them on a weekly basis for our health’s benefit. Soup is the best way to get the most out of them (look for soups in my recipes).

The Source of Vegetable Protein – Nuts

Nuts are as important in nutrition value as olive oil for its poly-unsaturated vegetable oils and oleic acid. Hazel nuts, almonds, walnuts, pistachios, macadamias, cashews and other, work effectively reducing bad cholesterol (LDL) in blood and diminish any cardiovascular condition like clots, arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, Alzheimer, multiple sclerosis and depression. Nuts are high in calories so we should consume them cautiously (5 to 6 pieces daily). They have a large concentration of vitamin E and some vitamin C which makes them excellent antioxidants. They are a great source of energy and vitality for our bodies. Nuts are very good for the skin; avoid hair loss and eczema for its content of vitamin B, Omega 3 and 6. For people like students who need to stimulate memory, good doses of nuts will bring them high concentrations of lecithin. Due to their low carbon hydrate content, they are excellent to regulate sugar levels in blood for diabetics. For its high calcium content, nuts are also an excellent way for women to fight osteoporosis and regulate pre-menstrual syndrome. They are fine to treat arthritis for its anti-inflammatory effects. I use them in my recipes both as grain or almond milk. Also you can consume them as snacks or simply over rice or salads. I prefer doing a mix of different types of nuts in my recipes and knowing that I have a well balanced content.

The Aromatic – Basil

Basil – is an aromatic medicinal plant from Asian origin that is widely used in the kitchen for its excellent aroma. The most abundant species are those with white and purple flowers. Basil is eaten and also applied as a balsam to heal different conditions. It is very good to treat digestive problems, common cold, fever and irritating skin. Also used as sedative, as diuretic, to help the immunological system, as aphodisiac, anti-vomitive and to fight vertigo. Other known uses are healing of mouth blisters, anti-clotting, ovarian cysts, hair loss, for drying acne, to heal a feverish body, skin cuts and for throat and pharynx infections. Basil is a natural mosquito repellent. Being used as a sedative, its infusions ease anxiety, depression, nervous conditions and for people with sleeping problems. It can be prepared in a bottle with water or apply as an ointment to your body with oil or alcohol. I prepare a small bottle with olive oil, garlic and basil to use it with meals in order to extract its benefits. I also use it as tea or place a bottle of water with basil leaves inside the refrigerator for them to be cured and drink it afterwards. I use basil in meals with rice, in fresh salad, pastas and soup. Basil leaves act as an anti-bacterial. Being a natural diuretic, it helps us loose weight without methods or body damaging pills. It eases the filtration of body liquids for people with kidney problems. Its a good breast milk stimulant for nursing mothers. You can crush its leaves in a blender and apply that mix massaged to your scalp to avoid hair loss. Finally, basil is the queen of aroma in the kitchen but also deserves our respects an excellent medicinal plant.

The Sweet, Healing and Most Appreciated – Honey

Honey – Its uses are known from biblical times to pre-history and a product considered sacred and highly appreciated. The Egyptians, Greek, Romans and other civilizations were already using honey in their diet. It is a thick fluid produced by the bee’s saliva product of flower nectar or organic material. Bees deposit this substance in their hive chambers where honey matures to a perfect stage. Honey is composed by glucose, water, amino acids, vitamins, salts, trace elements and minerals between others.

Beekeepers know about all the process and when is the best time to collect honey from the hives. Depending on the type of pollen the bee consumes, so the honey taste or color will be. Example of types of honey is: acacia, orange blossom, buckwheat, heather, eucalyptus, rosemary, lime tree and savory. That’s why there are so many honey varieties. It has a high sugar content which makes it the most used energetic nutrient by sportsmen and sportswomen. Honey has fewer calories than sugar but can also make you fat, for what its moderate consumption is recommended. The tendency is to sweeten more, but it takes longer to mix with liquids because is thicker. Sportspeople consume lots of honey for its nutrients and because it is rapidly processed by the organism. Regarding its medicinal uses, is an excellent antiseptic, it acts against bacteria, is energizing, soothes, relaxes and is very good for skin infections. Helps resist acidity and is believed to prolong life. Is good for the common cold if we take it with warm milk or lemon juice, use it in gargles for sore throat problems and as a powerful healer for open wounds, sores and infected ulcers. Honey can be used with coffee, desserts, toasts, cereals and cakes. It is excellent for skin care when mixed with raw oat flakes and a small amount of goat milk. Make an ointment for your face, leave it to dry and remove it afterwards with warm water. Honey can help you get rid of wrinkles and smooth expression lines in your face, on the long run. In the kitchen, remember to use it raw as a substitute for sugar, and as salad dressing when mixed with olive oil, garlic, lemon, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and oregano. I used it very much when my children were younger. You can mash papaya, bananas and add honey or simply make a fruit shake with a teaspoonful of honey for the baby’s bottle. This is a very effective way to put bacteria away from your child’s system. Honey can never fail to be in your home for daily consumption. Beekeeping is an immense industry nowadays due to the commercial demand for this product worldwide. Today, you can find pre-fabricated waxed hives and artificial bee hives in wooden boxes in order to stimulate bees to produce honey. Beekeepers capture wild bee hives and transfer them to their farms, place them in these boxes where they can supervise daily honey production for commercial purposes. Finally, honey is extracted with centrifugal machines, and then properly filtered. It’s all a very extensive and hard process in order to take the delicious honey to our homes.

Derivated Products:

Bee Pollen – Bees obtain pollen from flowers, fortify it with nectar where honey is made and store it in their hives in small dots. Pollen contains protein, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, carbon hydrates and trace elements. It helps with cellular, muscular and bone functions. You find pollen in granular form which can be chewed or dissolved in juice; also found in capsules. I personally pour some in juice or shake along with flaxseeds to drink in the morning. Other miraculous attributes of bee pollen are: helps elevate hemoglobin levels, fights anemia, helps skinny people to gain weight and increases energy in weak persons. Pollen granules can be found in your favorite health store inside properly identified jars or in capsules.

Royal Jelly – thick and yellowish liquid only consumed by the queen bee and larvae inside the hive’s royal chambers. Royal jelly is the reason why the queen bee can last an average of 5 years more than the other bees. Royal jelly acts against anemia, increasing red blood cells, helps in the strengthening of the immune system, is invigorating, increases longevity, helps to oxygenate the nervous and digestive systems. Look for royal jelly in its pure form, not mixed with honey. A teaspoonful, taken 3 days a week is enough to guarantee us an excellent health and high hemoglobin.

Propolis – is a substance produced by the bees to protect the hive from fungus and bacteria. Bees place propolis all around the inside walls of the hive. Obtained by bees from the heart of trees and the resin found in wooden logs, these components are taken to their hives and processed into a potent antibiotic. Propolis is an immune-stimulant, antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-allergic, scar healer and anti-inflammatory. It is ideal for healing skin, ear, respiratory conditions and conjunctivitis. You can find it in drop forms, magnificent for curing common cold, fever or viruses in babies.

Bee wax – wax formed inside bee hives is highly appreciated. Chewing a bit of bee wax with honey will activate its properties inside your body. Bee wax is used for candle manufacturing, as water repellent, as scar healer, skin wax and for anti-wrinkle products in the cosmetics industry.

The Cancer Healer and Health Keeper – TURMERIC

Turmeric - (Curcuma longa) or “Indian Saffron”: this seasoning and food dye comes from Southern Asia and belongs to the ginger family. Turmeric is usually mixed with curry or mustard. The active ingredient in Turmeric is Curcumin, which gives its peculiar yellow-orange color. Is an exotic oriental spice widely consumed in India and it’s available in markets as a yellow-orange powder. Also works as antiseptic for skin cuts and burns. Is an excellent antioxidant combats chest, colon and prostate cancer, helps to encapsulate tumors and melanomas in the body. Turmeric reduces the risks of Alzheimer proliferation (only 1% of India’s population suffers from this disease), cholesterol, intestinal problems and gastric ulcers. It helps in reducing the number of degenerative brain diseases. Also helps against arthritis and sciatica pains for its natural anti-inflammatory properties. Prevents atherosclerosis and blood clots. It prevents the risk of cancer in post-menopausal women and works against breast cancer. It also fights hepatitis conditions, helping the liver to produce an antioxidant known as bilirubin which helps the liver to prevent the growth of tumors in cells. Reduces glucose levels in diabetic persons and is most beneficial for mouth and palate swellings (must do gargles using this powder). Other attributes of turmeric are related to the cure of common cold, flu, infections and diarrhea. Is used as expectorant for asthmatics and for dermatitis, fungus and psoriasis conditions of the skin. The good news for chubby people is that turmeric also works stimulating weight loss in a natural way. You can find turmeric in the spice section of the food markets. Although it may not be easy to find, you can also try natural product or health food stores where I usually buy it. There are also spice websites in the internet which is a good alternative. I recommend using turmeric 3 times a week (1 teaspoonful) mixed with soup broth, in rice and in bean, chickpea or lentil stews.
