SPIRIT

What’s a good diet worth,

if our mind is not at peace?

An area where we will write on how to energize and bless our meals.

• Rituals to do before and during the preparation of meals to consecrate them for a better digestion and nourishment of our bodies. Mantras and chants during meal confection and the power inside each one.

• Meditation – creative mental visualization techniques. How this technique will help each type of food to work with its correspondent organ in our body.

The Effect of Color in our Body’s Organs

Natural color therapy harmonizes and balances the body and spirit.

The colors green, red, orange, yellow, blue, indigo and violet are the correspondent tones of the 7 chakras in the human body. Color is vibrating energy and each color represents the energy of one or more organs. Color has been one of the most attractive elements of nutrition, since antiquity. There is no doubt that colors play an important role in our menus. People eat through their eyes first, and then through their taste. A chromatic menu is more attractive for our appetites. A well presented dish full of pretty colors will be fully accepted. Only a few people will eat a tasteless meal because it’s simply good for their health. This, could sound like punishment. It can usually happen in hospitals, where meals are prepared strictly for improving the patient’s health. Ideal; low in salt, sugars and fat. That’s the way we should always eat! We all know that people don’t respond that way. Evidence shows that people usually eat what they like and not what they need. That’s why so many are always sick, always calling on their physicians, taking medication or hospitalized.

Fast food restaurants sell their meal picture projections to the public first of all. Once the meal is served, it usually varies quite much from what it was shown in the first place. But, that’s the way deceiving advertising works.

Chromo therapy or color therapy work on the relation between colors, nutrition and spiritual balance. Color in food is derived from a series of pigmentations.

• White – contains alicine and potassium. Lowers artery pressure, reduces cholesterol levels, it also prevents type II diabetes and cancer. You can find white in fruits like pears, melons, plantain, garlic, onions, cauliflower, mushrooms, white asparagus, turnips and leeks.

• Orange - Rich en beta-carotene, lutein, vitamins A, B and C. They are anti-oxidants and protect us from the sun. These sources help us enhance our creativity.  It helps in the renewal of our skin and sight functions. Orange color is found in oranges, carrots, pumpkin, peaches, mandarin, mangoes and papaya.

• Yellow – Rich in beta-carotene, vitamins A and C, potassium and folic acid. Yellow color is found in bananas, yellow zucchini, pineapple and lemons. It provides energy and enthusiasm.

• Green – Rich in folic acid, lutein, potassium, vitamins C and K. Sources of green color are found in green cabbage, lettuce, green peas, green asparagus, avocado, kiwi, green grapes, broccoli, spinach and cucumbers. It is also found in Mediterranean diets containing green vegetables and garden produce. It is usually related with nature, healing, fertility, freshness, growth and tranquility. Lettuce can make us feel sleepy. Green is used in hospitals to calm patients. Blackboards used in schools are usually green. Bones and strong teeth are also benefited from the color green.

• Red – related to love, passion and optimism. Red responds to the sexual chakra and also helps with mental activity. Red or orange is found in the vegetable world (garden produce, fruits and vegetables) due to carotene content, forerunner of antioxidant vitamins A and C. Red color is found in cherries, strawberries, berries, pomegranate, red apples, and watermelons. Also found in vegetables, garden produce, red peppers radish and tomatoes, which have a high content of licopene that lowers the risk of cancer and improves cardiovascular health. Red also helps with the urinary tract.

• Violet – sources rich in antioxidants and phyto-chemicals. Examples are found in cranberries, prunes, figs, beets, eggplant, black grapes, sprouts and purple cabbage. Violet sources possess powerful antioxidants that help delay the aging process. Help also in lowering the risks of some types of cancer, keeping a good memory and youth.

I have brought forth this information for you to be conscious of the relation between our body, the 7 colors of the chakras and the 7 colors that our found in food. Then, does it make sense that if we have a condition or illness in some organ whose vibration frequency is fragile or sick, to consume specific color foods that can help us strengthen our energies and achieve a complete cure?  This is a very personal belief and practice that has proved very effective when any of my body’s organs has become ill. An example of this, were my ovaries which once produced a pain that did not cease, due to a diagnosed cyst. I was able to make it completely disappear by consuming red fruits and berry juices on a daily basis. Rest assured that I always had my checkups and kept paying visits to my gynecologist in order to check if the diet was effective with my ovaries. I believe in natural medicine, but if it goes hand in hand with modern medical technology, both treatments will help me achieve peace of mind.

Remember, leave doctors, nutritionists and dieticians do their work. That is, while they also understand and respect our position as vegetarians, of course. Always watch the signals that nature and our bodies send to us. Each of us decides what to give, take or leave. Good Luck!

The incredible nature of the colors in the diet

According to Chinese philosophy, energy in food

can be classified in three types:

• Neutral – those that stabilize and harmonize

• Fresh and cold – refresh, hydrate and calms

• Hot – fortifies and motivates climbing

According to its color:

• White – those that purify

• Red – those that energize and revitalize

• Green – they filter and depurate

• Yellow – balances, harmonizes and stabilizes

• Dark – retracts tissues and can produce healing, anti-inflammatory and anti-hemorrhagic actions.

According to its taste:

• Bitter – those that drain and get rid of waste elements

• Salted – lubricants

• Sweet – those that raise energy levels (although for a short time)

• Acids – being an astringent, they act over the liver and bladder.

Rituals to do with food

If you are not smiling…, don’t cook

Although it may sound funny, it’s not.

More that a warning… it’s an advise.

Ritual cuisine is the vehicle to deposit positive energy in the cook’s food plate.

Some time ago, I had the chance of visiting a couple who are friends of mine in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It resulted curious for me to enter my friend’s kitchen and see that from the 4 domestic employees she had, one of them was not helping with the kitchen chores. My friend explained to me that during that day, the employee would not cook because she was affected by problems and was depressed. My friend could perceive the mood of her employees and knew this could be transmitted to the meal they were preparing for her family. Her advice made lots of sense to me. If I was not happy, it was better not to cook.

Better go and buy ready made food than cook with a bad mood. Even worst, it can poison your own family. How many times have you been in fast food restaurant and that food has been felt very badly. Well, reasons besides a bad digestion can be found in the bad vibes of those who cooked, where and how it was cooked. You will definitely see how important moods will be when you are cooking. Personally, I seldom eat outside my home. Besides, I like my own meals, I am very conscious of everything I eat and receive the energy of food at all times.

Here are some curious notes for everyone that cooks:

• If food has its own esoteric energies, other from the cook and an additional charge from the environment, imagine a way to harmonize those three energies for one purpose; to nourish ourselves.

• Rituals as exercises full of spiritual energy that activate universal magical forces can be used with the objective of stimulating and changing our foods.

• Every cell in our body must have enough clarity and energy to illuminate our whole organism. You must start by sending a thought of love to your meal and taste it in complete relaxed fashion in order to receive the energy that will penetrate our body through it.

• Each meal contains the forces of the sun and the moon from the time exposed during cultivation and growth stages. This energy keeps stored inside natural products for us to receive it.

• When we are about to consume any meal, we must place our minds at ease, clear and free of problems. Foods are blessed and the mind should be in tune with them. Give thanks for been fortunate as to have food in your table.

• Keep food in correct places where nutrients and energy can be maintained longer.

• Play soft and inspiring music while cooking.

• You can sing, pray or pronounce mantras of energy full of positive purposes, while cooking.

• When serving your meals imagine the multiplying effects of that food, where people from every Country will receive that same meal full of love and energy to ease their hunger. This will create the basis for a gratitude routine and mental visualization every time you sit down to eat, avoiding consuming your food like a robot.
